Retiring Soon: Buy LEGO City Jungle Explorers Halftrack Mission 60159

While browsing AMAZON for good deals on Lego sets, I ran across LEGO City Jungle Explorers Jungle Halftrack Mission 60159 Building Kitwith 378 Piece.  I highly recommend grabbing this Lego set now before it retires and more importantly before the sale ends, which are two attributes that are special about this set.  Lego is already planning to retire this set soon and this set is on sale on AMAZON at $26.39 (34% off!).  Retail price is set at $39.99.  This set comes with two minifigures (a male and a female jungle explorers), a panther, and spider figures.

LEGO.com is also having a sale but not as much as AMAZON.  However, you can take advantage of Lego’s VIP points and get additional discounts from EBATES.

Additional Discounts

If you decide to buy any Lego set from LEGO.com, then make sure to sign up as a LEGO VIP member (I highly recommend).  In addition to VIP points, if you use EBATE.com, you can get additional 2.5% from shopping at LEGO.com plus if you are a new member, you receive free $10 just from signing up.

Best Deal on Lego Set: Super Hero 76087 Batmobile Airlift Attack

I try to search for a good deals on Lego sets and monitor for Lego sets that are about to retire soon on a weekly basis.  I do not always find good deals online but during the holiday seasons, there are many good deals.  One of the best deals I found today is Lego Super Hero 76087 Batmobile Airlift Attack.  According to LEGO.com, this set is retiring soon as it was first released back in August 1, 2017 with retail MSRP $129.99.  LEGO is most likely having its final sale on this Lego set with little over 30% off, for $89.99.  I think this is a great deal.  However, I found an even better deal on AMAZON for $72.99 with free shipping.  This is $57 off from MSRP, 44% savings!

The benefit of buying at LEGO.com is their VIP program, where you can receive 89 points.  There are also two promotional sets currently where you can receive a free Bricktober 5005255 Jurassic World ($19.99 value) and a Lego 5005253 Reindeer Ornament ($4.99 value).  But, you must add another item that’s $10 to receive the Jurassic World promotion.  The good news is that Jurassic World is going for $34.95 on AMAZON and Reindeer Ornament is going for $12 on EBAY.  I found a perfect Lego set that’s $9.99, Mighty Micros 76092: Batman vs. Harley Quinn and this set is marked as retiring soon by Lego.

If you were to buy Lego Super Hero 76087 Batmobile Airlift Attack, then where would you buy from?  I am tempted to get Batmobile Lego set from LEGO.com to receive these two promotion Lego sets plus some VIP points.  Either way, you must act fast because they will be sold out or the sale will end soon.  Also, promotions won’t last forever.

Additional Discounts

If you decide to buy any Lego set from LEGO.com, then make sure to sign up as a LEGO VIP member (I highly recommend).  In addition to VIP points, if you use EBATE.com, you can get additional 5% from shopping at LEGO.com, plus if you are a new member, you receive free $10 just from signing up.

Final Thoughts
I think you will do well with investing in Lego Super Hero 76087 Batmobile Airlift Attack if you were to buy one now.  That is because the value will start going up higher as soon as it becomes retired.  Also, you will be buying it at much lower price than MSRP, not to mention you could get a few promotion

Buy Retiring LEGO Set for Profit

In my previous post, we discussed importance of identifying Lego sets that can provide Lego investors a high rate of returns.  One strategy you can use to buy LEGO sets for profit is to research the Lego sets are in the final stage of sales before LEGO decides to retire.  Once a Lego set retires, the price of that set starts going higher since LEGO is not making it anymore.  This strategy works very well and you should try it out yourself.

Search LEGO.com to Identify Retiring Soon Lego Sets

It is not easy to identify Lego sets that are marked to be retiring soon.  However, there is only one best way to know which sets are retiring.  That is to visit LEGO.com and get the information from LEGO Company.  They can’t be wrong, right?

All you have to do is search “retiring” in the search box and you will get a list.  But not all sets you see are retiring soon so you must sift through all of them and pick out the ones marked as “Retiring Soon”.

Some of the sets have been already sold out so you won’t be able to buy them from LEGO.com.  However, it can be a wise decision to identify them so that you can buy at other online stores.

For example, if you search now today and sort by Price: High to Low, the first set you run into with “Retiring Soon” is 70917 The Ultimate Batmobile.  This Lego set was first released on June 02, 2017 with retail MSRP value of $139.99.  It also has great reviews everywhere so you know people will continue to seek for this Ultimate Batmobile set.  You can try to buy one from EBAY for less than the retail but I think the best place to buy one is from TARGET as they are giving out free $10 gift card over $50 spent.

If you browse your search result at LEGO.com, then you will find many of these sets marked as “Retiring Soon”.  But my personal favorite set to buy is 70923 The Bat-Space Shuttle.  This Lego set was first released on January 1, 2018 with MSRP value of $79.99.  I love this set right now because Target has it on sale 34% off at $52.99 and it even comes with $10 gift card since it’s over $50 spent.  Also, at less than $60, it won’t break your bank for buying one.  Target is having a big sale on Lego sets you should browse and see if any interests you.

Additional Discounts

If you decide to buy any Lego set from LEGO.com, then make sure to sign up as a LEGO VIP member (I highly recommend).  In addition to VIP points, if you use EBATE.com, you can get additional 5% from shopping at LEGO.com or 1% from TARGET, plus if you are a new member, you receive free $10 just from signing up.

Final Thought

Investing in Lego sets is real and can bring you much wealth as a long-term investment.  Many investment savvy people have already started investing their money into Lego sets and I presume the Lego market will only continue to grow over time, which means potential for already retired Lego sets should be accelerate and should bring even greater profits.  I believe the two Lego sets I mentioned in this post will turn into a great investment for the future and everyone should jump on it when there is still some time left before this set retires probably by the end of this year if not early 2019.

Before I end this post, I cannot resist but to inform you of two Lego sets from TARGET that you should really consider buying because they are over 35% discount.  If you buy both, then the discount is even greater since you will receive free $10 gift card.  You must act now before they are out of order or the sale ends.

Investing in LEGO Set for Profit: 2018 LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle

In my previous post, Investing in LEGO set for Profit: 2015 Lego Ferris Wheel, we discussed importance of identifying Lego sets that can provide Lego investors a high rate of returns.  One such Lego sets you can buy today is the 2015 LEGO Creator Expert Ferris Wheel.  I had already spent enough time doing the research by analyzing its current value and comparing to their retail price, and I look at similar Lego sets from the past that have already retired and checking their return on investment.  Today, we will look at a couple of LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle sets.

2010 LEGO 4842 Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle

LEGO 4842 Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle set was released on October 1, 2010.  At that time, it was the fourth version of Hogwarts Castle that had been released.  Sets 4709, 4757, and 5378 were released in 2001 with 682 pieces, 2004 with 944 pieces, 2007 with 943 pieces respectively.  At the time of release of 4842 version of Hogwarts Castle, this Lego set was the largest with 1290 pieces and it retailed at $129.99.  As of today, this Lego set is going for $550 on Amazon, an increase of more than 350% over 8 years

New Version of Hogwarts Castle Released

LEGO wasted no patience when they released a new version of Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle set this year on September 1, 2018.  This massive Lego 71043 Hogwarts Castle set that has exceeded everyone’s expectation with 6020 pieces, which turns out to be the second largest Lego set and easily surpassing prior Lego Hogwarts Castle sets to become the biggest set in history of LEGO.  You can read more about it at Jays Brick Blog as he goes into much details of what this castle is all about.  The reason why I am writing about this new Hogwarts is to inform you this year is your opportunity to make a great investment in Lego sets.  Since Lego 71043 Hogwarts Castle has not retired yet, you can still get one at a retail price.  But do not look for one on Amazon or EBAY because this same set is already priced at $600.  The only place you can get it at a retail price is at LEGO.com.  You must get one before they run out because it has not been even one year since its release and already the price has increased by 50%.  I recently bought one set for myself and I used VIP points to lower the overall cost.  Oh wait!  If you buy this set right now, you will receive a free reindeer ornament Lego set, currently being sold on EBAY and AMAZON for $12.

Additional Discounts

If you sign up as a LEGO VIP member (I highly recommend), you can receive 399 VIP points, which is equivalent to $20 on future orders.  In addition to VIP points, if you use EBATE.com , you can get additional 5% of $399 ($20) plus if you are a new member, you receive free $10 just from signing up.

When you receive this amazing Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle set from LEGO.com, inspect the Lego box very carefully and identify any damages from shipment.  I have noticed that LEGO.com does not do so well in protecting the Lego set during shipment.  If you find damages and are not okay with them, then you call LEGO.com customer support (1-800-835-4386) for an exchange.  However, if there are any slight damages that you can live with keeping the set, then you still call LEGO.com customer support, explain the damages, and request some VIP points instead of having them send another set as an exchange.  Make sure you take pictures as proofs as they may want you to send the pictures to them.

Investing in LEGO Set for Profit: 2015 LEGO Ferris Wheel

Many people become surprised when they hear how Lego sets can turn big profits, similar to stock markets. Well… Maybe not as much as stocks but if selected wisely, Lego sets can turn hefty profits for sure! That’s why I have been spending time in identifying these Lego sets that could turn big returns by analyzing their current value and comparing to their retail. Also, I look at similar Lego sets from the past that have already retired and checking their return on investment. Because I have been actively researching on Lego sets, I believe I have been slowly building up a sixth sense on identifying Lego sets best suited for investing. One of the biggest benefits of starting to invest in Lego sets is that they do not tend to decrease value over time as long as Lego.com does not mass-produce. This brings up another aspect of my research, which is identifying Lego sets that is not mass-produced by LEGO.com.

Revisit Past Lego Set

Today, I want to share a Lego set from the past that resulted in a high return on investment so that you can get an idea. Back on July 1, 2009, more than 11 years ago, LEGO.com released an interesting Lego set called Grand Carousel (10196) and came with 3227 pieces, 9 minifigures, and 2 booklets. This set was intended for age 16+ and was initially sold for $249.99.

Today, this same set new in box with factory sealed is selling for $2000 to $3000! The boxes with perfect condition can fetch upwards of $4000. This means your $250 initial investment back in 2009 would have turned into approximately 1000% profit in 11 years. You can see how difficult it is to find a stock that can turn similar profit in that same period. Will the price of this Grand Carousel Lego set continue to rise over time? Absolutely because LEGO.com does not make these anymore and the number of new sets are diminishing over time. Therefore, if you have the guts to pay $2000 for a Lego set today, this can turn into a great investment for next ten years.

So you ask yourself, what is a good Lego set to invest that have not been retired yet and can buy one at a retail price or even less in today’s market? There are many great ones out there. I have been buying them one at a time but I find more every week as I do the research. I will share one Lego set to consider for buying and holding for many years as an investment. A very important piece of advice to you is that make sure the set you buy has a box that is as perfect of condition as possible, free from dents, creases, any damages especially the 4 corners and edges.

Purchase Lego Now Before Too Late

I want to recommend a Lego set called 10247 Creator Expert Ferris Wheel!

This Lego set is also appropriate for age 16+ and comes with 2464 pieces and was first released back in May 15, 2015. It is already more than 3 years old. Besides being beautifully designed by LEGO.com, this is a sizable Ferris Wheel over 23” high, 21” wide, and 14” deep. You will see how big the Lego box is when you receive this set. You will be very tempted to open the box and build it immediately, but you need to suppress your temptation since you bought it as an investment, not as a toy.

Currently, this set retails for $199.99 at LEGO.com. I would say you can only buy it from LEGO.com at retail as the price already started to rise on EBAY and AMAZON. In fact, on November 11, 2018, just last month, this set was sold for $499.99 on EBAY, although you can buy one from EBAY for much less but probably need to pay at least $250. Similarly, on AMAZON, the Creator Expert Ferris Wheel is being sold between $287 and $499. Despite these high prices compared to its retail, you can get one from LEGO.com for only $199.99 + tax. Oh wait! If you buy this set by December 10, 2018, you will receive a free promotional Lego set, exclusive Holiday Carousel, which retails for $15, but is being sold on EBAY and AMAZON for up to $48.

Additional Discounts

If you sign up as a LEGO VIP member (I highly recommend), you can receive 199 VIP points, which is equivalent to $10 on future orders. In addition to VIP points, if you use EBATE.com you can get additional 2.5% of $199 ($5) plus if you are a new member, you receive free $10 just from
signing up.

When you receive this Creator Expert Ferris Wheel set from LEGO.com, inspect the Lego box very carefully and identify any damages from shipment.

I believe Lego 10247 Creator Expert Ferris Wheel will turn into a great investment for the future and everyone should jump on it when there is still some time left before this set retires probably in the next several months.
