In my previous post, we discussed importance of identifying
Lego sets that can provide Lego investors a high rate of returns. One strategy you can use to buy LEGO sets for
profit is to research the Lego sets are in the final stage of sales before LEGO
decides to retire. Once a Lego set
retires, the price of that set starts going higher since LEGO is not making it
anymore. This strategy works very well
and you should try it out yourself.
Search LEGO.com to
Identify Retiring Soon Lego Sets
It is not easy to identify Lego sets that are marked to be
retiring soon. However, there is only
one best way to know which sets are retiring.
That is to visit LEGO.com and get the information from LEGO
Company. They can’t be wrong, right?
All you have to do is search “retiring” in the search box and
you will get a list. But not all sets
you see are retiring soon so you must sift through all of them and pick out the
ones marked as “Retiring Soon”.
Some of the sets have been already sold out so you won’t be
able to buy them from LEGO.com. However,
it can be a wise decision to identify them so that you can buy at other online
stores.
For example, if you search now today and sort by Price: High
to Low, the first set you run into with “Retiring Soon” is 70917 The Ultimate
Batmobile. This Lego set was first
released on June 02, 2017 with retail MSRP value of $139.99. It also has great reviews everywhere so you
know people will continue to seek for this Ultimate Batmobile set. You can try to buy one from EBAY for less than
the retail but I think the best place to buy one is from TARGET
as they are giving out free $10 gift card over $50 spent.
If you browse your search result at LEGO.com, then you will
find many of these sets marked as “Retiring Soon”. But my personal favorite set to buy is 70923
The Bat-Space Shuttle. This Lego set was
first released on January 1, 2018 with MSRP value of $79.99. I love this set right now because Target has
it on sale 34% off at $52.99 and it even comes with $10 gift card since it’s
over $50 spent. Also, at less than $60,
it won’t break your bank for buying one.
Target is having a big sale on Lego sets you should browse and see if any
interests you.
Additional Discounts
If you decide to buy any Lego set from LEGO.com, then make
sure to sign up as a LEGO VIP member (I highly
recommend). In addition to VIP points,
if you use EBATE.com, you can
get additional 5% from shopping at LEGO.com or 1% from TARGET, plus if you are
a new member, you receive free $10 just from signing up.
Final Thought
Investing in Lego sets is real and can bring you much wealth
as a long-term investment. Many
investment savvy people have already started investing their money into Lego
sets and I presume the Lego market will only continue to grow over time, which
means potential for already retired Lego sets should be accelerate and should
bring even greater profits. I believe the
two Lego sets I mentioned in this post will turn into a great investment for
the future and everyone should jump on it when there is still some time left
before this set retires probably by the end of this year if not early 2019.
Before I end this post, I cannot resist but to inform you of
two Lego sets from TARGET that you should really consider buying because they
are over 35% discount. If you buy both,
then the discount is even greater since you will receive free $10 gift
card. You must act now before they are
out of order or the sale ends.
